Questions
What if my phone is off or the battery runs out?
The alert still goes out. The countdown runs on our server, not on your phone, so your contact is emailed even if your phone is off, broken or lost.
When is my contact emailed?
The countdown starts from your last check-in. If you choose 3 days, the email is sent about 72 hours after your last check-in. Until then, you get reminders on your phone.
Does my contact need to install ImOK?
No. They only receive an email. Let them know in advance so they recognise it and don’t mistake it for spam.
Does ImOK track my location?
No. Your location is taken only when you press and hold the SOS button (Premium). It is never tracked in the background.
Can I pause it?
Yes. Pause it at any time in the settings, for example during a hospital stay or a trip. No alerts are sent while it is paused.
Is ImOK free?
Yes. The daily check-in, reminders and email alerts to one contact are free. Premium adds up to three contacts, the SOS button and location in alerts.
